Privacy policy

In short

  • Your files never leave your device. Neither their content nor their name is sent to us.
  • No ads, no audience measurement, no tracking cookies.
  • We only keep what is needed to sell and verify licences.

Data controller

Data processed

  • Purchase: Paddle, which sells the licences, collects your email, your country and your payment details. It acts as data controller for the payment (Paddle’s policy). We receive your email, your country and the order number.
  • Licence: the key, your email, the plan, the purchase and expiry dates, and for each activated device a random identifier created by the app (it says nothing about your device) and the activation date.
  • “Recover my licence”: the email you enter, to send you a sign-in link.
  • Technical logs: IP address, date, requested page and browser, for security and to limit abuse (such as guessing keys).

On your device only: the app stores in the browser your licence token, the device identifier, your preferences and the downloaded conversion engines. None of this is sent to us, except the device and licence identifiers: at activation, then while the device is online, to check that the licence is still active on this device (when the app starts, when you return to it, and at most every hour).

Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing and verifying your licence, sending your key: performance of the contract.
  • Service security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest.
  • Accounting and tax obligations: legal obligation (largely handled by Paddle).

Recipients

Paddle (payment) and Vultr (website hosting, sending emails). We never sell or rent any data. Paddle is based in the United Kingdom, a country recognised by the European Union as providing adequate data protection.

Retention

  • Licence data: as long as the licence exists, then 3 years after the last activation.
  • Technical logs: 12 months at most.

Cookies

The website pages only use a technical session cookie, needed for form security: it does not require consent. Paddle’s payment window may set its own cookies, used for fraud prevention. The app uses no cookies.

Your rights

You can access, correct, erase or retrieve your data, restrict its use or object to it: write to support [at] morfile [dot] com. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
